First of all, CBD itself will not show up on a drug test. However, there are different types of CBD, known as broad-spectrum and full-spectrum. Broad-spectrum is less likely to be contaminated with any THC, which is all taken out in the synthesizing process.

 

Full-spectrum CBD, on the other hand, contains all naturally occurring compounds of the cannabis plant, which means trace amounts (0.3% or less) of THC, which can conceivably show up on a drug test.

 

These tests (whether mouth swab, urinalysis, or the less common blood or hair sample) don’t check for CBD, but even these tiny amounts of THC that don’t get you high might still present an obstacle to employment. So if you’re a CBD user who may be subject to random drug tests, it’s best to opt for CBD with no THC.

 

If you do choose to use the full-spectrum variety frequently and have to take a drug test, you might want to opt for a detox plan, just to be on the safe side. The first thing you should know is that THC is stored primarily in fat cells, so a commonly held belief is that burning fat through exercise is a good way to detoxify.
