What’s the Difference Between Hemp-Derived D9 THC and Traditional Cannabis?

If you’re not used to cannabis lingo, don’t worry — we’re here to help.

For most individuals, there’s a hazy line between hemp and cannabis. Are they the same or not? Below, we’ll briefly describe each to help you put hemp-derived D9 THC into better focus.

Hemp-Derived D9 THC

Hemp is cannabis; however, hemp is a subspecies of Cannabis Sativa.

Overall, hemp plants contain an extremely low amount of THC (less than 0.3%) and an abundance of CBD. From therapy to textiles, hemp plants offer many use cases, which is why it was legalized in the 2018 Farm Bill.

As you can see — the 2018 Farm Bill protects hemp-derived D9 THC products because they test below 0.3% THC.

Cannabis-Derived D9 THC

Cannabis plants contain an abundance of psychoactive THC.

Due to this, traditional cannabis products are federally illegal. However, most states in the USA have voted to legalize recreational or medical marijuana use.

Overall, the 2018 Farm Bill does not protect cannabis products that contain more than 0.3% THC.

What are the Effects of Hemp-Derived Delta-9 THC?

Whether delta-9 THC comes from hemp or THC-rich cannabis — there is no difference in terms of psychoactive potential.

D9 THC can make users feel “high” or “stoned.” However, everything depends on the THC concentration.

At 0.3% THC, hemp-derived D9 THC is extremely subtle and miles away from the effects of consuming traditional cannabis products. Therefore, it’s unlikely that you will feel high while consuming hemp-derived D9 THC products.

Instead, individuals may experience a wide variety of effects while consuming hemp-derived D9 THC, such as:

  • Euphoria

  • Increased awareness

  • Elevated mood

  • Relaxation

Additionally, hemp-derived D9 THC may support a wide variety of medical issues, such as:

  • Insomnia

  • Pain

  • Inflammation

Furthermore, studies show that extremely low levels of hemp-derived D9 THC won’t show up in a drug test after a single dose. If you consume hemp-derived D9 THC regularly, there is a chance that it could show up on a drug analysis.

How Much Hemp-Derived D9 THC Should I Take?

Everyone is different, and your optimal D9 dose will likely differ from your neighbor's. In any case, it’s wise to start at a base level and increase over a period of time.

Generally, you should consume 10mg of hemp-derived D9 THC and wait for the effects to begin within 45-minutes to 2-hours. If you’d like to consume more after this point, you should up your dosage by another 10mg.

Um not that I’m complaining but your delta 9 gummies get me plenty stoned. In fact I only eat a half gummy these days.

granted it’s mellow and gentle, but it is still pretty strong.
